I have a mxz 700 that is my snocross machine it is modified. I had new pistons put in it and the cylinders re-nikasiled after aprox 1 hour i chipped another chunk of nilasil off the very top of the cylinder. it is getting very expensive to fix this thing after barely riding. Trying to figure out the problem. I think that the jugs are over ported, or the head is not correct. it has head work and porting i believe the crank is stock. thank you.

Welcome skidrider,

Concerning your jug, a picture is worth a 1000 words.

I also would like to see a picture, but I would start looking closely at the head.

Are you absolutely sure that you are not over-torquing the head bolts? No guessing here, are you following the actual spec to the letter?

Is this a bored cylinder? If so, how much area is left between the bore ID and the oring or seal grooves?

Who's doing the Nikasil job?
