Ski-Doo Lynx Sea-Doo Evinrude Johnson Rotax Bombardier ATV
November 23rd, 2004
TO: North American Ski-Doo snowmobile Dealers
FROM: Bob Lumley, Vice-President, North American Sales
SUBJECT: Mach Z and Summit 1000 Delivery
Dear Dealers:
Many of your customers want to know when their 2005 Mach Z’s / Summit 1000`s will arrive.
We are pleased to inform you that these exciting new Ski-Doo models are currently in production and some units have already been shipped.
Since the RT Platform is one of the hottest new sleds this winter, it is understandable that its progress and performance will attract considerable attention.
When BRP placed a temporarily hold on shipping these units last week, it generated some rumor and speculation, especially on the Internet.
As our front line representative, we believe it’s very important for you to know exactly what happened, so you can help us set the record straight.
To ensure the highest possible level of durability, quality and reliability, BRP continues to test new models throughout their first year of production.
This ongoing quality assurance process benefits both you and your customer by identifying and addressing any unexpected concerns, which may emerge during long term usage, before they become a real issue on the snow.
During advanced in-field testing on the 2005
RT Platform, we discovered a potential component failure.
Until we could determine its precise cause and
extent, we made the prudent choice to delay shipments.
We are now pleased to report that further testing demonstrated the situation to be an isolated case, not a broader concern or trend with this model.
I’m also pleased to report that in the course of our testing, we were able to identify a basic routing issue with a radiator hose that requires a simple modification.
A Service Bulletin will be forwarded in the very near future for you to address this situation with any units that have already been shipped.
For those 2005 Mach Z / Summit 1000 snowmobiles still in production, the radiator hose modification will be completed n Valcourt, and these units will be released and shipped
daily beginning this week and into early December.
During the past week, BRP has proved once again that we are very proactive in producing the best
snowmobiles available today.
It is this continual attention to detail and willingness to act responsibly that ensure consumer satisfaction and loyalty.
Thank you for your cooperation, patience and understanding in this matter — and for communicating this important message to your customers!
