i have an 04 800 pro x i messed with the suspension and all i did was tightened the front shocks to about half way on the threads, and the rear shock to about half way on the threads. compression knob is it #4 both rear and #4 front. the springs are set on high(tight) tension. before i tighted the front and rear shocks it was great and within spec of uncoupled and with me sitting on it about 4 1/2" difference. now on flat ground i can easily with my hand just move the rear suspension up and down with ease like 8 inches and it feels like its bottoming. are the fronts to tight? i need them tight to ride it hard. what gives? what is a great suspension setup for aggressive moguled trail riding for about a 205 lb rider?

The 04's are quite a bit softer than the earlier pro x's especially if you had the updated valving done from Ryde Fx. I have found the springs to be a bit on the weak side, but it could also be that your shocks need a rebuild or revalved to suit your riding style. Another reason the rear could collapse easily is you could have your limiter straps tighter than normal relaxed position. Hope I was a help to you. Email me if you'd like...

see it is like the front end is jacked up real high and the track is at such a weird angle that only like 2 ribs of studs grab the ground. i would think an idea angle would be as many ribs as possible on the ground. it only does this when the front is fairly tight how can i run tight front shocks without this happening. or is the suspension just always gonna do this with tight front shocks sled has 500 miles and shocks are in no way in need of a rebuild i ran my old edge shocks for 3000 miles before i rebuilt them

Don't know about the rear sag thing, haven't messed with the Pro yet. From what I hear though what you are describing there isn't unusual at all. On the IFS though, sounds like you may have WAY too much preload on them. Are you doing nothing but jumping, or are you doing mostly trail riding?

just aggressive trail you are right i do have them way to tight because right now i cant even push the front end down an inch its so tight i will loosen up. i guess if one were to just be jumping then that angle would be ok

I am guessing by that you mean you have an upward slope to your track agle with the rear being the farthest down. I had a similar problem as this when I tweaked my rear suspension on my cat. I found that your rear springs and shock (being that your suspension is somewhat similar to mine?), are only being utilized until the track angle is even with the ground. When your track is even, and not at a upward slope you utilze your full suspension. Hence your 4.5 inches of sag.
what I did to my cat to fix this problem was to lower the front of my rear suspension to make it even with the rear, so that the track angle was level, and not at an upward slope.
This pic shows a sled with an upward slope that I am talking about, (sorry zr rider).

This pic shows how I lowered the front of my rear suspension to level out the track angle. This TREMENDOUSLY helped with the sag problem which you are talking about.

Here was the end result.........
Reason this was done is because I too like to ditch bang, and prefer a stiffer suspension to take a beating. I pulled my front shocks off and tore a retaining spring off the threads of my fox shocks that acted as a stop so you could only preload the springs to a certain extent. Well after I tore off the retaining springs I too had a front end that was now sitting up much higher. I also lowered the rear of my rear susension 2 inches as well. The moral of the story is get your track even with the ground, you will be pleased with the results if you do so. I sure was.
