Well Wednesday was my last day of school be for thanksgiving and i was excited because i was going to finish rebuilding my ext. I get there in the morning and after i take my test i go work on my sled when i finished putting my exhaust on i cross my fingers and pull the rope. it started! so i was happy about that i let the computer adjust it self and shut it down. later that day i went to start it again The damn thing wont start. talk about pissed off. i checked my spark and i have plenty of it my teacher told me to check my battery because the 580 need a lot of juce to power the fuel pump. i checked that and i had 12.2 Volts so thats not to far off from a fully charged battery. so i dont know what to do next. i guess i will start looking at that monday.

Sorry i had to vent.
thanks
Nick

In your excitement for the upcoming season, did you forget the check the kill switch?

I agree with grimm, check the Kill Switch. I have pulled till i was blue in the face, only to have that evil litttle red button turned off.

If your battery is good, you will hear the fuel pump running when you pull up the kill switch and turn on the key. Your battery can show 12V on a meter even when it is out of juice. You need a load tester to truly evaluate the battery.
OR, do you have a tether switch? Maybe that came loose.

Charge up the battery and then try it.

Before charging it you could put some jumper cables on it and see if it will run then.

make sure there is water in the battery. mine is always dry in the fall.if you don't hear the pump cycle. check fuse and relays.also check grounds known for being bad especially after sitting. let us know how ya make out.

So it ran for a bit and now won't run.

Do you have gas?

Is the fuel turned on?

Take the air box off, spray some starting fluid into the carbs and see if it fires, make sure its on a stand when u do this so it dont take off on ya.If it fires,u have a fuel problem.Check the fuel pump, clogged filter, carbs?
