Some pipe mfg make them so as to utilize your stock can while others build the pipe to mate up with their can only...........you'd be best to contact them directly.
As for using the pipe itself, given the fact that particular engine is somewhat piston prone IMHO you will only invite premature failure by using a pipe. The last thing a 580 needs is an increase in RPM, I have however heard a pipe will make a fair bit of power increase.

Of course the end decision lies with you.

sleddinmi, Let me know how that works out for you. My stock pipe is cracked and I keep having to weld the thing. Did your pipe come with a chip? According to the web sit its 329$ US for the pipe, wondering if it is worth it? Stock pipe is 250$, just wondering if the extra 80$ is worth the 6 hp gain they are saying the pipe gives. Thanks, Jesse

Ok,i haven't decided yet. I'm going give them a call tomorrow and see if the pipe is still available and what i get with it(possible chip, can,or whatever).

I'll let you know.

Ride it first and clutch it. The sled is kinda loud enough, if you really want a pipe it will cost alot and get a quiet pipe. With the combination of clutching and your size I do believe you will be surprised at the trail manners and speeds you can get out of that sled. Did you adjust the rear suspension I was wodering if it was too stiff for you? I set it up for my fat @ss you know.

Your right about riding it first. I will see how it goes, then do some clutch work. Thought about coming up and staying for a bit for sledfest? We should have a blast to say the least. The 580 is looking better each week, which i've been adding more style to it!
p.s Forgot to answer your question. The suspension is still the same, havent messed with it as of yet. It doesnt seem to stiff. I will take it for the first ride and see if i like it where its at.

Jesse,

I called and they want $329 for the pipe AND can,it comes as one. They also require a regulator ($199) for it to work properly,i guess. I think im going to pass and go with a clutch set up.
