i am using a hjc clx4 with smith warps this season. seems like that is a very popular combo.

Are you using the quick release straps with this setup? I was wondered if people have problems with them peeling off the helmet in cold weather.

Scott turbo flows are popular

My beddy has them and I think I am goint to get them now they work great and fast. My only problem is drilling a hole through my helmet to mount the quik strap, I hate doing that what if I mess up then I destroyed my helmet :dazed:

I own a FLY helmet and a CLX-4 fuel and I like the comfort of the clx more but the looks of the fly helmet are better although the mouth piece on the clx is the best looking one on the market of you ask me. I use Oakley goggles and they fit perfectly but they seem to fog up to easily. I like the smith wraps but my buddys fog up as easily as mine. I have been hearing alot of good things about the SPY's antifogging I will try them next I think.

I recently bought the HJC CL-X4 and Smith Fuel Airflow goggles with quick straps. I haven't rode with it yet but with the breath deflector included with the helmet and the goggles on there is no exposed skin so hopefully its warm.

You don't have to drill thru the helmet for quick straps. Look for the Roko brand quick straps (Dennis Kirk sells them). They stick on your helmet with really strong tape.

Yea, I've never seen anybody drill through their helmet to mount their goggles. Just make sure that you helmet is warm when you stick on the mounting tabs and you'll never have a problem. If it's cold the adhesive won't stick.

Same here, birthday gift from my girlfiend last October. Haven't used it a ton, but when I did I had no fogging issues.

I have a "helmet helper on the back of mine... it adds a few inches to the strap...then on the back of it is a few lines of rubber to prevent it from sliding around! :)

get ready for frost bite fellas!! unless u have a no-fog face mask underneath. i run a clx-4 fuel helmet with scott and spy goggles. i have two helmets and love them, just make sure u buy a breath guard such as the no-fog or you'll regret getting that helmet. the no-fog will keep your face covered and warm. the places i had problems with frost bite was on my cheeks just underneath the goggles and it's not much fun riding when you're cold. just something to think about before u go out.

Frostbite can certainly be an issue if you're not prepared for it. Obviously you'll need some kind of a NoFog mask, or Unwind balaclava, but it is possible to use the goggle set-up without ever getting burned.
That being said, when it's really cold out like it often is in Northern Ontario, you need to be sure that you're ready for it. If it's -30 and there's a leak in your mask then by the time you notice that it's cold you'll already be frostbitten.

if you want you helmet to protect you, you sure as heck won't drill holes in it.
