I recently purchased a 2005 M7 and today in the mail i found a letter from Arctic Cat stating that i need to take my new sled in to have a few things tightened down because they werent adequately tightened down during production. Do I really need to have it looked at by a pro Arctic Cat dealer or me being somewhat mechanical tackel the improvements by myself? And did anyone else recieve this letter?
Thanks

i would do ityourself. even if you are not very mechanically inclined its a good way to ecome familiar with your sled.

i would take it back to the dealer as fast as possible that way if it loosens up or breaks you can say that they fixed it and now it broke just a little insurance for the long run.

Take it in or it won't be recorded as done. Also I believe your dealer makes money from Cat by performing warranty work. Be glad there IS a bulletin. There are things out there that should have a bulletin and don't!

I used to work at a dealership andthe money that the dealer gets for warranty work barely covers the mechanic work. It's not that great. But I would say take it in. Just like thundercat96 said, it's a little insurance down the road. If there is no report of it being done, and something happens- you're left with the bill. I know we all like to work on sleds and tinker around, but this time I would let the dealer do it.

Take it back to the dealer. (I can't stress this enough) If something goes wrong and someone gets hurt your insurance won't even cover it because you were notified of the problem and didn't take the proper action.

yes there was a minor recal on some bolts on the new M7 i think there was all together 13 bolts that needed to be taken out and put blue locktite on them and reinstall them i work at a dealer and we had to do this recal to a couple of sleds it will take you 15 mins to do it yourself but if you feel better take it in and get it done and yes the dealers do get paid for doing warranty work.

i got a letter from Arctic Cat for my 2005 F6 for some bolts not tightened for the brakes i think the letter said. But my dealer said i should bring it in because it could void my warranty if it isnt recorded as done

as spaceman said, you want the dealership to do it so that it is listed as being completed,,,, not having it done and listed as completed could cause you warranty problems in the future,,,,

take it in,but with a new sled grab a bunch of wrenches and start checking bolts. sleds have a habit of having loose bolts.specially skid bolts so check periodically.
