And those dirt roads make the best snowmobile trails. *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Iowa is another state good for gravel roads. I went there a few times pheasant hunting (when it was good) and if you got off any main road,it was gravel *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif Lots of gravel roads in our province!!! Some of them are better than our paved highways!!1 I would prefer to travel gravel roads........less traffic and sometimes more to see!! http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
and if there is enough snow they are a blast in the winter on the sleds http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

Over the years here in Ontario a lot of the gravel roads have been surface treated. They spray tar, then spread gravel chips on it. Almost as good as pavement.

Here in ND we have plenty of gravel and dirt roads. *Growing up on a farm I feel more at home on them then pavement. *Dirt is the best as long as its not muddy. *They would make good trails like you said but the biggest problem here is there usually the highest point and the snow blows right off them.
