I am trading for a 1994 Mach 1, it has been sitting for 2 years, besides diassembling & cleaning the carbs & cleaning & grease, should the clutches be diassembled or could I get away with just cleaning the sheaves? The owner told me that the engine has a bog on the second stage, but never had it looked at, just parked it. It is a 670 twin, any ideas on what to look for, I was told that it could either be a carb problem or a clutch problem? Any ideas/suggestions would be great
Thanks

Also check the crank seals.
If you haven't made the deal yet I would recommend a 95. Way more power with the Huge 44mm carbs and factory twin pipes.

i would try to get at least a 96 mxz, or newer doo sled...to pick up the sc10 suspension. unless you ride close to home trails, on a 94 i would do a total restoration. clean inspect check everything top to bottom.but thats just me.i am picky and hate to walk when its 10 degrees and snowing.

Now for some contructive talk about the 94 Mach instead of telling you to buy a newer sled
Check the front rails where the front arm attaches it self to the rails, the bolt tends to oblong the rail on the C7s
Take clutches apart and clean replace slider buttons in TRA and cam shoes in secondary
Check compression
Check brake pad wear
Get a pair of Flex skis

Thanks for the info, I have already checked compression 135-140 each cylinder. seems to be good. Thanks again

Check the boots where the front suspension enters the belly pan, as snow will get in there if they are torn and create havoc.

I had a '93, same sled different graphics. If over 3000mi., pull the C7 skid and check ALL the millions of shafts, and suspension arms. I have seen tons of C7 self destruct themselves from lack of lubrication, they seize and crack, then they destroy the aluminum slide rails. Thats really it, the 670 is absolutely bullitt proof. A great rigid chassis design, you will be amazed how well that sled rails corners! Hitting bumps is a different story....... OUCCCCHHHHH! You lower intestine will end up in your throat after 100 bumpy miles! Good luck,
