I changed the rear shock on my sled to an older fox shock of the same length and now my suspension doesn't seem right. The suspension is definately stiffer but my concern is that my front limiter straps are now completely slacked. Chould changing the shock do this? Should I just tighten them back up again or do i need a different shock or what? i don't know if i have enough thread left to even get them tight. The shock i took out was completely shot with pretty much no resistence left in it. Any imput?

Let's see if I have this right. You are saying that you replaced the original shock with one the same length, and now you frt. limiter straps are loose? If they weren't the same way before, then you need to go back over what you've done. SOMETHING has changed.....
For whatever reason, it sounds like the suspension is not returning to the top in front with your new shock in place. You're sure it's the same length?

i'm starting to think that the new shock maybe is a little longer. i will have to pull them out and remeasure. i could just tighten my limiter straps to compensate but we have no snow for doing a test ride. does anyone with more expierence than me know if a longer or shorter shock will cause the limter straps to be affected? is it still rideable if i can tighten them up?

Rideable yes. Right no. If the limiters have slack in them with only the new shock installed for changes, the new shock is most likely shorter, not longer.

you need some tension on your straps, or else you will eventually rip your shock in two
