just a quick reminder that my headlight has blown twice after replacing it. after others reading my initial message, a couple people suggested it was the voltage regulator. I have looked at http://www.brownsleisureworld.com/Parts/SN...GASSEMBLIES.htm (http://www.brownsleisureworld.com/Parts/SNOWMOBILE/1986/1986COUGAR(0650-005-1986)/CONSOLEANDWIRINGASSEMBLIES.htm)

and I can't seem to find it on the sled. Is it attached to the engine or up under the console. I have only one thing connected (electrically) to the back of the engine, and I believe it would be the CDI unit. But I don't know where the regulator is. I have followed the blue, white, and brown wires back into the console but I don't see anything that resembles a voltage regulator. My friend said it was the size of a match box. Is it located under the front lip of the gas tank or up in the console wiring? I don't know. Can anyone help?

Thanks

Its part 31. If you scroll down the list on the right stop at the one that says voltage regulator, that will be it.

Yes, thank you, I can see what the micro fisce diagram shows. I haven't taken the gas tank out, but I do have the console moved enough to see the wiring underneath. As I said, I don't see a device that resembles a voltage regulator. There is this box attached to the back of the engine on the right rear side that has electrical wires coming off from it. of the connectors on it, one of them go to the coil. Am i mistaking that thinking it is the CDI unit, or is that the voltage regulator? Sorry for not being any more technical than that? Any further help is greatly appreciated.

It should be down on the right side around the chaincase area. maybe above the toehold. I don't think you have to remove the console. It is definitely attached to the frame. If that sled has a battery it may be under it.
