Are all 02 800 Ski-doo twins hard to start when warm? My 02
Renegade takes 2-3 cranks of the pull cord after unit is driven,
shut down for a bit and then tried to restart.Cracking the throttle a bit does not seem to help like it did on my previous V Max 4's. *When cold its perfect. Any ideas on how to help this besides electric start? Who would have the best electric start kit prices?

Eat more wheaties, or get an electric start.

Might be carburation.

My 2001 is 2 or 3 pulls cold, and a light pull when warm.

You might want to check the rubber on the reed cages it gets soft and seperates from the metal, sometimes its hard to see so pull gently with you fingers, its usually starts from the corners.

Make sure she is down to idle before you shut her down. If the engine is shut down at a high idle, the engine will flood.

Try it with the heated carbs turned off. *I think some machines have the float level a little to high and it causes them to flood when shut off. *The heat causes the fuel to expand enough to come up the tube into the venturi, then as soon as you pull it, it's flooded!
