I have a chance to buy one at a fair price. It was snow checked with the m10 suspension. Alot of our riding is actually done in the woods at 10-45mph. What is the personality of this sled. Is it clutched kind of "revvy" or will it be civilized to run at these speeds. Yes I do like some speed on the lakes and fields but I'd sure love a sled that would get to about 80 pretty fast and yet you could do a little "meandering" through the woods--ITS HELL TO GET OLD and actually enjoy the woods instead of wating it go by like a picket fence!!

the 500 valve motor goes better than my 600 tripple xlt[96].have not had it wide open yet.but what a ride on m-10.people ask me what kind of sled i got and i tell them i got a m-10.lol some smooth.i was use to xtra-12,thought that was great.hth

I just bought a 2002 500 xc sp and have put about 300 miles on it so far this year and i love it. Its a very nice ride and handles very nicely through trails. Ive beaten 600's with it and it keeps up nicely on lakes with the bigger sleds since none of my friends holder to the bar down every lake.

A guy I ride with has this exact same sled but with the EDGE suspension. He loves it and it has not given him any trouble. They are very snappy for a 500, my Formula Z is only a little faster in acceleration. Not sure what the sled tops out at but should be 85-95 depending on conditions.

Clutching is snappy, it will run from 0~50 really good ! top speed with m-10 should be around 85 + or -5 depening on conditions.... regular edge rear skid xc 500 will run about 92 ~95 on ice, the m-01 is slightly slower on the top end.....

There is a bulletin on the 2002 XC 500sp and 600s with M10s

they had a tendency to overheat

this is true.the dealer i got mine from put a xtra cooler in the back before i got it.plus the temp. sender has been uipdated to a higher temp. before it goes into mental mode!!! hth
