I recently took a look at the brake assembly and i cant seem to find where 2 brake pads would go. There is a spot that looks like one little square pad would fit into and thats it. Anybody ever put brake pads on a 79?

You may have already found out by now, the one pad you can't locate is between the brake disc and the back of the chain/gear housing, there's a detent in the shape of the disc cast into the housing that it rides in... requires a little disassembly to replace...
