I am thinking of changing the suspension in my 1990 Mach 1. I have come across a C-7 suspension and was wondering if it was better then the stock suspension in my sled. I am just learning the in and outs of sleds, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Greg

Hey,
The best way to go would be the new M-12 or M-10 from Fast.
What's the budget?

I just pulled a c-7 out of a 95 STX and put in a sc-10III ,Ill tell you how it feels in a week or so--couldn,t take it anymore with the c-7.It's a good hole shot suspension and bullet proof--but not a good mogul rider.

hey,
That's easy, putting the sc10 III in the f2000 chassis, he wants to put something in the PRS chassis, take a look at the Micro-Fiche online and I think you see I may be a long road ahead.

IS a 1990 worth a M10, Can't tell too much by looking at mico-fiche. I think if the tunnel has the width , with a little imagination anything is possible.

hey,
Absolutly, Imagination and some skills and anything is possible. The M-10 may just be easier with all the templates coming in the install kit. I don't want to diswade anyone from a project, but don't bite off more than you can chew.

YES the C7 is an improvement over you monoshock in the Mach, but is it worth it?

The C7 into the 90 Mach should not be too hard IMO

They had the C7 in thr PRS from 92-94

But unless you are getting the C7 for free ,it will not be worth it IMO

Maybe try to find a SC 10 or SC 10 II or III and put that into the Mach

I also put a SC 10 into my 95 STX 583 this November

Big Time improvement IMO :D

I swapped the skid out of my sons 91 PRS sled to a newer C7. Ride is far better than the original set up. Not a SC-10 or M-10 but a good cheap improvement.

I used one from a DSA mach with the screw adjust limiter and HPG's.

I picked up some thick washers from a fastener shop to use as spacers between the shafts and the tunnel. The PRS tunnel is wider than a DSA so spacers are required. 1/2 per side I think it was. I went to all grade 8 hardware.

I grabbed mounting paltes from a DSA sled and used them redrilled to fit the PRS. I had to redo it a second time as the first time I used the factory DSA rear mount holes on the bumper brackets and they all lined up perfect. Looked like it fit like a glove. Once installed the front rails hit the drivers at the front so I had to drill out all my plates and move them back an inch or so and mod them a bit. Doh!

Been in 2 seasons, this the third and it works great. Runs flat and corners hard. Get your a*^ off the seat if you see a big one coming though. LOL. Good for groomed trail riding - 100% over the old PRS skid.

I have a 1997 mach 1 670 with sc-10 suspension and was wondering if I could upgrade to sc-10 III without having to buy a mounting kit or anything else?

Hey,
You can upgrade to an SC10-II without changing anything, but NOT a SC10-III. New bracket locations and more drilling. I unfortunatly do not know the specs for the SC10-III conversion, only it's differant.

Thank you MRGUTZ! You just saved me the money it would have cost to buy a suspension that won't fit into my machine without chaning stuff.
