Went out for the first ride of the season (District 8 in Ontario). Trails were open, but not made public yet. The trails were unreal, midseason conditions in most areas. There was more snow then I've ever seen this time of year. Some of the fields had as much as three feet, the deep bush was upwards of 4. The trails were all groomed and it was heaven. We ran into this one group of guys that had 3 Machs. We chatted with them about their rides. They were disappointed in the performace. The best they could do top speed was 114mph on the GPS. I forgot to ask what the speedo registered. Anyway, all the machines were broken in and that was the best they could pull. That is not very good if you ask me, certainly doesn't live up to the hype.

I have pictures but I see the picture posting means has changed again.

114 is a disappointment??? Maybe on hard pack or ice, but I can't imagine that at this time of year that the conditions were very good for WOT runs.
BTW, if I read about one more person's 'first ride' story I'm going to be sick..... :p

for the mach's- probably they had their clickers on #6...they belong on #2
And, the chip breaks it in for 4 hrs. by retarding timing
I wouldn't worry about the mach being fast; check out Dootalk, people are seeing 128 on radar

what i can't understand is why these conditions are not posted on the OFSC website. :cussing: now that the government is involved is there reason not to be quite so sincere?

Posting on the Ofsc web site are reported to the OFSC by volunteers who are in short supply and very busy with many different activities, both sledding and family) at this time of year

james,
if there is a specific person that has agreed to the task of posting the conditions i have a hard time wondering why they haven't posted conditions. they know the price people pay to ride.
