why oem & not gates or dayco? they are expensive but you can feel the difference jsut handling them. the best time to get them is at a Snow Show. i got my Dayco ultimax3 for $46 and they run around $60 in all my aftermarket catalogs.

New to the sport. For every belt one guys recommends, another guy has a better belt and a comment on the other one. I figure OEM and I would be safe.

Should I start a thread about belts? Not.

Dayco are good belts then? No snow show that I know of in the north east coming up.

Check out e-bay 1st. I find great deals on new stuff all the time.

The 414860700 belt is only about $47 from the Ski-Doo dealer, so there's no sense in spending more on an aftermarket belt that may not work as well. If you notice, dayco and gates belts are slightly different dimensions and are usually harder than the stock belts.

The OEM belts will give you the most performance out of your sled, your clutches were calibrated specifically for them. If you use an aftermarket belt, you will have to do some adjusting to your clutches to get the most performance out of it.

I have tried to use other belts on my sled, I have used the Gates Extreme, Ultimax II, Ultimax III, and Goodyear belts. Nothing lasts as long as the OEM belt. I have over 2000 miles on my belt, and it still measures within spec, so I can run it for a while longer yet. I have yet to get more than 500 miles out of any of the aftermarket belts before they broke or wore too thin to use anymore.
