OK, had some problems with my oil pump and wanted some help here. The story is that when cleaning out the carbs, I found out that the oil pump leaver wasn't comming down all the way, it was actually kinda stuck half way so i played with the throttle, but the oil pump leaver wouldn't go ferther then half way down but did go to wide open, which means that from idle to half throttle, the amount of oil was the same :confused: . I thought that the cable was the problem, but turns out to be OK. When taking the leaver and spring off of the oil pump, I found the spring to be quite soft so I modyfied it to be stiffer so it could have more pull on the leaver. This kinda did the work, but still doesn't come all the way down. Now, my big problem is that when working on the leaver, I kinda played with the screw where the leaver bolts on that goes inside the pump and was wondering if that screw, screws in and out or just turns on it's self? I tryed to screw it out or in with no luck, it just turn on it's self which makes me beleive that the screw has a hole in it that lets the oil through the pump, but I'm not sure. By playing with that little screw, did I just completly "screwed" the pumps calibration? I need help here BIG TIME.

ya, but what happens when you turn the leaver 5 times thats 5 complete turns?

I'd shoot Permafrost or LadyK a PM.........pretty sure Perm had that exact same problem last year, I'm sure he'll know the fix.
Best figure this out before it costs you an engine.
