I have notice that when depressing the brake lever the brake light doesn't light until you really apply the brake. I was wondering if other T660 owner have notice this problem and if so what have you done to fix it. A detailed explanation would be great if you have a good fix to the problem, I have the touring model so I don't know if it is only specific to the touring or not, you might want to check yours to see if you are experiencing the same problem. Thanks

Hey Forester,

I had the same problem with mine (T660 Touring 2004) I had to take the lever off and shave some plastic off of the lever to allow the plunger to come out enough to light the tailight when the lever was pulled...Mentioned it to dealer when I bought the sled, they said that was the only fix...Easy enough to do, good luck.

roughly how much did you shave off? I'm guess this was more by trial and error go until the light is activated by the brake lever eh?

thanks

I had to do the same to mine. Yea, a little at a time until you get it to where you want it.

So the area to shave is the contact point of the brake lever to the little silver color plunger? Want to make sure before I start shaving. thanks again for all your help.

Yeah, that's right. Just go a little at a time, and use a sharp tool as the plastic is real hard...Easy fix to do, good luck.
