I have been wondering for a while about this, I would like to lower the front end of my sled, (96 ZRT 6) I have looked at the shocks and it looks like the black plastic spring holder is threaded onto the FOX shock? is this true and if so can they be adjusted. And if so I want to put my front end down, so will this change the way my skis touch and can that be changed? OR am I just being a silly kid?

I don't think you are being a silly kid, but I would like to ask you why you want to go lower. The only people I have heard of going lower with thier suspension are drag racers and circle trackers to keep the center of gravity lower and for less wind resistance. For the trail, you want as much travel as you can get out of your sled to soak up the bumps and if you lower your sled, you reduce travel. Hope this helps---Bleedin'
PS--the black collar you were talking about is to adjust the preload on the shock springs---generally speaking if you tighten (add preload) the front springs, you get more ski pressure and a stiffer ride with less bottoming out.

I don't want to go real low, just lower then stock. This is not a trail machine, its for going fast and doing it right. I tend to get the odd person wanting to drag out on the local lake, so I would like to lower it so I could get that look, not necisarly more speed. and I wouls think lowering the front would make it corner better for there is the odd time a side-road race is what is going on, need to keep up to that snow-pro and ZR Cross Country!
