Ok...here is the situation. I thought I was getting a 1999 ZR600 EFI Motor that came with flywheel stator to replace my current motor with a bad bottom end. However, after receiveing it..and some research and arm twisting the seller, it turns out the motor is from a 2000 ZR600 Carb model.

Now here is my question, due to my limited knowledge, I do not know if I can do anything with this motor (ie. use the bottom end, take the efi off mine and just connect it to this, etc.), or should I just drop the engine on the sellers head?

Any info is appreciated.

What did you pay for it? I would drop the motor on the sellers head.
You can change over the parts however, I believe that you need the stator from your engine as EFI obviously requires a different electrical input.

$900 for the motor (supposedly only about 1k miles, I do have to admit it looks to be in great shape).

If it is just a matter of swapping all electronics, I can handle that. I do know that the motor will fit in the chassis, I am just not sure if the electronics, throttle body, etc. would swap OK.

You definetly need the EFI magneto and stator - Check to see if the magneto and stator will fit in the case. If it does everything else should interchange pretty easy.

Check the online parts microfische, like at Brown's Leisure World, to cross reference which parts are interchangable.

:withstupid:

Then take the left over parts and drop it on his head!!! Make sure you get some of your money back first, you paid for it being told it was an efi engine and it was not. The price might not have been too bad but I would ask for some money back!!! :cussing: :cussing:

Just an update: I checked the online microfiche, and as far as I could tell, none of the important (flywheel, stator, etc.) parts are interchangeable. So, now I'll try to get my $$ back. Thanks to all that replied.

How about maybe breaking his gonads for the rest of the parts to convert over to carb?
