Unloaded at the Lighthouse Restaurant this morning. Rode the railbed to E trail, to E107 into Apsley. Had a bite to eat at The Pheasant, and came back the same way.

The trails were in pretty nice shape, much better this morning than afternoon, but that's to be expected. The worst part was the stretch of E trail between the trail to L'amble and B106e, it was TERRIBLE! Other than that, it was not too bad of a day.

Total Km = 185km

Leezer, if you can, try a mid-week ride. Trails are usually table top smooth after the previous weekend. We were stopped on the edge of Lake St.Peter Saturday afternoon about 4:00 for 15 minutes. The amount of sleds using the lake or the railbed was amazing. Everybody was out it seemed. Good to see, but the trail conditions do suffer as you know from this amount of traffic. Lake St. Peter was very slippery. There is a couple of inches of loose powder on top of the ice. While crossing the lake at mid-point my sled's back end tried to come around and meet the front end. Luckily I was only going 3 times the speed limit or it could have been a sorry mess inside my helmet. As it was, the mess was contained to my diaper! w00t

Leezer, have you ever been to Chandos Lake?? We go there to camp in the summer, out to Quality Island, and I noticed a snowmobile trail goes across it...

Whanker57, check under Trail Conditions, Southern Ontario.

The subject heading Paudash Trails, I believe people are running to the lake.

That section of trail by l'amble is always pretty whooped up. The groomer never had a chance to break it up before it formed a really crumby base due to the melt than freeze up. Unless we get alot of snow it will probably stay that way. Cool pictures by the way. Good that Bancroft has a gas station open till 2:00 am now. Makes it better for all night rides. Take it easy.

No, I've never been to Chnados Lake Wanker57, I'm sure I will be at some point over the winter, doesn't seem like we're ever gonna get enough snow down in my neck of the woods. :bash:

Wow, I didn't know Bancroft had a gas station open til 2am!!! That's good to know, I've been in sticky situations with fuel before, and it's not a good feeling!! Thanks for that tidbit of info. Which gas station is it?... the shell?

W/ spending weekends in Apsley since I was a kid, we've been Chandos for years. Never heard of Quality I. though. Which bay is it in?

I live within 2 minutes of Chandos Lake. I have never heard of that Island or seen a trail on that lake that would cross an island. That would be dangerous IMHO. The lakes are crap right now unless you have studs as it is just a few inches of powder on glare ice.

Which gas station is it?... the shell?

I am thinking the ESSO self serve right in town accross from Rotten Ronalds.

I was talking to some other folks on Sunday that had been running West Bay to get to the groomed trail. So far only groomed south to 620.

Ya ,the shell station by jug city , across the road from that dive of a bar (chinese restarant) .Only night he isn't open till 2 am is sun. He started stocking plugs, two cycle oil for sleds . The guys who run it are local sledders. He also has smokes now, and coffee, if you don't feel like a a ride to the Tim Hortins.

That's good, just a short scrape across the bridge from the trail. Probably quicker & easier than getting gas @ the station south of Jan Lumber.

I would be curious to hear how the trails are Friday after the rain and warm weather. I will be heading up to Lake St. Peter Friday night.
