I'm not sure which one to order. With a 1.75 track is the 600 Renegade enough in the mountains or is it lacking the power to pull the track?

If it was me I'd go for the 800. The SDI is nice in the fuel milage department but all my buddies with SDI's got way too many problems. Fouled plugs, melted side panels etc.

If you have the option as far as money is concerned, I would definitely go for the Power-Tech 800. I'm getting over 14MPG with mine and you can rest assured that it isn't because I'm babying it.

I guess the money is one of the reasons I was leaning toward the 600 but I have concerns regarding power when I go west.

with the 800 you'll have to re jet it when you go west, the 600 you just take :)

Don't be doubting the 600's power. You would be suprised how hard it pulls. Top end will be more on an 800, but I can't see that being a worry if your not racing it.

I don't think anyone is doubting the power of a 600HO. But don't try to compare it to an 800HO. I have both. There is no real comparison. Ya the 600 has plenty of power for the twistys, but if it's torque that you're after then a 600 is the wrong machine. Mountains and deep snow require more torque. If you are going to spend a lot of time in the mountains and powder, get the 800. If you are just going to go to the mountains a week a year, get the 600 and another set of gears and a chain and some clutch components and gear it down before you go. There is NO way that you can take any flatland sled and just head for the mountains and have fun. You will have to prep it whether it's a 6 or an 8. I would suggest buying it for what you are going to use it for most. Personally, I would rent a sled for the mountains.

Here is a question, if you are "mountain" riding, why are you not getting a summit? The renegade would be good in the deep stuff, but if it is truly mountain riding you do, would you not be better with a mountain sled.

Exactly, get the machine that suits your main, riding type, you can still ride most places but mountains take sleds tuned for mountains period and unless you like digging...
