Hi,

I need help with my email. I am no computer wizard so please go slow on the explanations.

Lately I have been getting abot 4-5 emails from solicitors that I can't get ride of. It's driving me crazy. Every time they send mail they claim that if I send them an email asking to stop recieving mail that they will stop. But I seem to get more unstead.

Lately I have been getting quotes on life insurance, another is some dude that was once King in some small country needs my banking info to store 10 million dollars (I can't even find his country on the map&#33http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif. There is another from some company that wants me to make 1 million dollars working at home? And countless others that my Virus scanner needs to erase attachments on (Klez?) I reveive so much I can't stop it.

I am looking for a program that does 2 things.
1 - I want the program to block these from comming in
2 - I want the program to KILL the sender. Not his PC, I actually want this guy dead!

IF no such program exists for the latter of the two requests, I can comprimise and only buy the first.

Please help - I'm Going out of my mind!

#1 Rule: Don't reply when they ask if you don't want any more email from them. That just confirms to them the email address is good. Just delete the email.

Are you running Outlook? You can go into "Tools" then "Message Rules" & type in certain words such as free, win, porn, etc. Then you add that messages containing one of these words to go to your deleted folder.

Also you can block an address thru "Tools" & Message Rules. You just type in the offending address.

Ask around & you should be able to find someone to help you.

Hope I've helped a bit.

Or you can take the Spam Assassin one step further and add on CanIt from Roaring Penguin.

This is what I ended doing for the company I work for in order to filter out spam email.

Just a question (ps. I'm slow on the computer business)

If I only accept emails from My address book, wont I miss all the new emails from people I want to hear from. I have adds in racingjunk to buy parts, If they don't get through I will neaver know if someone is interested.

What about ebay, I'm pretty involved with buying sled parts there. I don't want to block some payment confirmations.

Therein lies the problem with doing that.

get a new email address and stay away from internet porn sites. (not suggesting that anyone here does that http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif )

Only Paul does http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif That's why he hasn't been posting much http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif

Seriously, I have 2 email addresses. One I use for normal email with friends or aquaintances. The second one I use if I have to enter an email address on a website. That way my main inbox isn't full of crap & the messages go thru my Norton Antivirus too.

I pretty sure this all started when I posted an add with racingjunk.com

if you read the fine print they reserve the right to sell your email address.
They sell your address, then the next buyer sells it and so on and so on.....

Be carefull not to post free ads. They make money off your address.

Thanks for all the other tips.

I did the same thing. *I've used snosaes@hotmail.com for 6 years, and that's my main one that everyone know. *I nabbed performancex@hotmail.com about 4 years ago, which I used for all the junk. *Well, recently I discovered that microsoft deleted my account and someone else picked it up ("PSI Performance"). *I hadn't logged in for 3 months, I think. *I'm so ticked off about that. *I hope they're getting all my junk.

I also have numerous email addresses. 2 I use regularily depending *on the situation and one other for replying to adds that may sell my email address . I wonder how much trash has piled up in there, it has been over a year since i looked at it . Even at that I still get appx 5 pieces of spam a day . *It's just all part of life on here
