My 05 F6 belt is too hard. Will any other belt work. It squeels and slips. The clutch get's really hot also. Need a softer belt ASAP.

It sounds like you have an alignment issue.

Clean up the clutches and align it. It shouldn't squeal like a pig.

Sounds to me like your current belt is either way too tight or way too loose. Adjust belt deflection to spec and confirm your clutch alignment and she'll be good to go.

Since he's saying too hard my money's on an AC belt.

In doubt gas it

Sounds like the same problem i had with my 04 F6. Like said, check belt deflection. I had to take a shim out of my secondary, perfect now! Although i was pi$$ed, when it started doing that at 5 miles on the sled. It just slips when taking off???

Did you confirm deflection was now within spec or just take a shim out?

make sure you have an 0627-020 belt. In o4 and 05 cat had 031 belts which were high mileage belts. The things are garbage. Had the same problem with it on my 04 and 01 zr 600. Went back to an 020 and no problems

Since the 020 is a fair bit softer than your stock belt it'll throw your clutching set up out to lunch. If defection is kept on the tight side the harder belt will not be an issue and will prove far more durable than the 020.

I would disagree with your clutching statement. The sled runs and is as fast with either belt. the 031 is harder but you have to have perfect belt deflection. 031 is great for a low hp touring sled but not for a high hp performance.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree...........my bet is the sled will act like it's over clutched with the 020 but we'll have to see.

I found the 020 belt works really good on my 04/F6. Much better than the stock kevlar hard belt. However the 05/F6 went to a diamond drive and the belt lenght is different again. I can't seem to find an after market belt anyware. Just wondering if anybody had ideas or tried anything else. Thanx anyways.
