I'm looking at a 97 XCR 600 triple. Some guys have told me that they might have had crank problems. Is there anyone out there who can give me any good or bad news about this machine.

How many miles were on the sled? *What was your jetting and did you check the oil pump settings? *

It won't be that expensive if you can do the work yourself.

I agree with the earlier post about having the crank problems fixed in '97, from what I've heard. *I have one of these and it has about 3800 trouble free miles on it. *

I have a 97 xcr 600 se with over 4500 miles. No problems other than high oil use. Hotseat clutch kit helped by letting the engine rev. more in mid range.
