My MX583 was doing the same bogging ,but only in the first stage of the throttle . It was getting too much fuel. How do your plugs look? I unfortunatly :cussing: burned a hole in a piston shortly after I re set-up the carbs. I ended up leaning the machine out to much. Be carful and set the carbs up again. That would be my first suggestion. Let us know how your plugs look though , they can usually give at least an idea on how machine is running.

Sounds like its the 580 with the rotary Valve. In the prs chassis. The 583 had the Rave Valves. They first came out on the F-2000 chassis.

Both are Good Motors.

Take the sled in and have your mechanic do a leak test on the engine. I suspect you may have an engine leak that is causing the problem.

Both motors have rotary valves, The 583 has RAVE (exhust valves) as well, the rotary valve is sort of a induction timing device like reeds.

But any way back to the intial post it sounds like you do have a blown gasket or some other form of leak as Bradw metioned. I had a Doo with the same thing happened when i was younger and it was a blown head gasket, regardless if you done the gaskets last year one could be faulty. Good luck with it.
