We were out at Puslinch today and running the sleds as allways.
I was talking to Mike Smitt and Monique was waiting for me so we could load up and head out.
She was watching the sleds running on the track.
When a 05 Mach Z was running and a RX1 was trying to pass him on the right.
The RX1 couldnt see through the snowdust and hit the guy holding the gun at prob over 100 mph.
The owner of the RX1 has broken ribs head injuries and not sure of what else.
The young man holding the gun ( Who is the brother of the Mach Z) has 2 broken legs, and a broken arm.
And Im sure there was more to his injuries.
I would like to thank all the people , the paramedics, fire dept, OPP and anyone else that helped out.
I am going to the hospital tomorrow to see the driver of the RX1 , he is a regualar on the lake as well he was one of the people that helped Monique when she rolled her sled a couple of years ago.
Ride safe all.

Really sorry to hear that. Thank God no one was killed.
This is a reminder that even on a lake you should never out run your visibility. A wide open space does not always mean you can go Wide Open Throttle.

That's why I hate Scugog. Sleds running every which way. You almost need eyes on the back over your helmet. People won't keep the racing on the plowed strip.
I hope everyone has a full recovery.

You have to pick your spots thats for sure.Head lake in Haliburton is bad also, nearly got taken out there a couple of years ago.I was headed to the donut shop and a sled took off out of the shell station,I locked it up spun it in to the same direction he was headed and bailed.Lucky for me only a sore butt the guy never even noticed just kept going. I was moving at a good clip.. Minor damage mirror .This is one time I was glad that I wasn't running studs.

I feel sorry for the injuries they received
BUt they are IDIOTS :bash:
You wonder why the media loves us
If you cannot see slow the F DOWN
You do not radar run 2 sleds at once :bash:
You radar run when the coast is clear and evryone can see ya
we had a very bad accident about 10yrs ago around here
They were having a club radar run and some idiot thoght it would be nice to cross the track with his sled
Needless to say another sled was doing the radar run and they connected :undercover:
I believe the club never had a radar run after that idiot cross the track

I hope everyone is OK but I have to agree with Freezerburnt.
The RX1 was stupid in trying to take the MACH1 especially when it wasn't setup for both to race.
We have to smart on how we race or the Sport will become damaged to the point of no recovery.
I do hope that both will be up and running soon.

Im sure the rider of the RX1 didnt know there was a gun on the ice.
There were alot of people running on Sunday.
They were all racing each way it was chaos.
Im sure it will be more controlled now, I will be involved in making sure it is.
Its a shame it takes this to get things done.
My girlfriend Monique is a basket case , she saw the whole thing happen.
She is really messed up right now.
Too bad now she wont race anymore because of this.
And let me tell you she was kicking the snot out of alot of sleds out there too.
Everybody was gunning for he Sunday.
She cleans my 04 800 HO X by 7-8 sled lengths.
She was keeping up with a seriously modded Polaris 600 tripple , that is a drag sled, she llost by 1 sled length.
ZRT 600 and 800's cleaned them, ZR800 with another woman riding neck and neck.
F7's same.
I ran her once I was seeing 110 on speedo in snow and she was pulling away on me BAD.
Maybe next year I can get her back ot, but this year is a no deal now.

Wow, I am so glad everyone was ok. To tell you the truth, the moment I read about him hitting the radar guy 100mph, I thought that he woulda been dead on the spot. I think this is a lesson for all of us to learn.

He was probably watching the 05 Mach Z (his brother) as that was the sled he was radaring.
The RX1 probably wasnt visable to him from the snowdust.
We attempted a couple of passes , but a group joined in and we got off the throttle as couldnt see and we knew it wasnt safe.
I wish everybody was as carefull or parinoid.
