I was sold a pair of carb boot sockets and later found they had been modified to work with VForce reeds. They were shaved flat on the backside to accomadate the VForde reeds.

What is the deal here? Can I use them with the original Ski Doo reeds,
mine have the integral molded reed inserts. Am I looking to loose power or worse, trouble down the line.

Any idea why they were shaved flat for the VForce reeds? Maybe I should by the new reeds.

They will be alright as long as u have an airtight seal around your intake port.
Thats probably the reason why they were shaved so they could fit tighter up against it. If u can afford the V-Force reeds i would go ahead and get a set. But otherwise make sure u have a good seal because that is a pain to work with.

Dont use those modified boots with your stock reed cages!!! You need VFORCE III's or the unmodified boots.
