: Best lookin yamaha
dooittoit 08-12-2002, 01:15 AM Does anyone else think that the old V-max yamahas looked awesome. *I'm not a yamaha fan at all, but I do think that the old V-max looked pretty dang good.(The Vmax-4 chassis) Does anyone agree. *How about some pictures
Sharkey 08-12-2002, 01:21 AM I prefer the real early SRX's over 20 years ago.
Steven Hohman 08-12-2002, 02:59 AM I enjoyed the early 90's V Max body style, it was on my 94, it looked and felt like a chariot, just give a squeeze and hold on
Steven Hohman 08-12-2002, 03:01 AM Ahh yes, I'll get a pic of it soon....once I find it on one of the million FLASH cards I have
ARCTICZRT600 08-12-2002, 05:58 PM V-Max 4 is the ride. *It looks mean as ####.
dooittoit 08-14-2002, 01:47 AM Let's see some pictures. *I'm sick of only seeing talk about the RX-1 in the Yamaha forum
jwheeler 08-14-2002, 01:42 PM yea the old v maxes were mean lookin, i also loved the look of phazers during the 80`s and early 90`s, they were really sharp compaired to everything else at the time.
Sled Dogg 08-14-2002, 02:19 PM attached
Sled Dogg 08-14-2002, 02:20 PM Attached:RX-1 ER Limited in Liquid Silver. Comes with the carbon Fiber a-arm guards, the silver color.
Sled Dogg 08-14-2002, 02:22 PM Mountain RX-1
dooittoit 08-14-2002, 09:43 PM I try to start a topic in the Yamaha forum with no RX-1 talk and oh looky there!! *Another RX-1. *Jees!!
jwheeler 08-14-2002, 10:12 PM ha ha ha ha its all rx1 here man. http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Steven Hohman 08-15-2002, 12:24 AM Here's a 87 phazer for ya....complete with the retro-style red and white.
jwheeler 08-15-2002, 08:49 AM ha ha my buddy had one just like that http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif we thought it was super fast back then. http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
Steven Hohman 08-15-2002, 12:35 PM I look at sleds today and I wonder how come you don't see the "old-looking" graphics like the ones that are on the phazer, everything is all flashy and up in your face. *If you gave me a sled that had a solid color, I'd love it.
Sled Dogg 08-15-2002, 12:58 PM The new Rx-1 is a solid color in black, blue or silver.

dpaige 08-15-2002, 01:39 PM Here are the 2 most reliable sleds in history.
89 377 Safari with 22000km
and the 91 Phazer with almost 20k on it.
Both of them are bullet proof.
2 years ago I was on the way home from Martin River to north bay and the Phazer holed a piston(my fault, new pipe+wrong jetting = melted aluminum)
I limped about 25km home by myself on 1 piston.
I replaced the piston the next day(Thanks, North Country Yamaha) and it has been fine ever since.
89indy5 08-15-2002, 01:48 PM The praying mantis lives again!!!!
LabradorBoy 08-16-2002, 02:16 PM Yes sir,
The Shogun was definitely a good looking machine.....the silver skis were a nice touch as well.
I can't find any good pics though!!!
toydoc 08-16-2002, 10:33 PM Here's my 93 Vmax-4 750
I picked up a extra engine this summer to wack on.
The engine in it runs to good to cut on and now I have a backup.
toydoc 08-16-2002, 10:39 PM This is the other drag sled for this year on the ice.
1976 SRX 440, old open fuel sled all hand made 300lbs wet.
Sled Dogg 08-17-2002, 12:40 PM Hey toydoc, your name isn't Tom is it? I'll explain after you answer.

Steven Hohman 08-17-2002, 11:14 PM Hey toydoc, what is that sled doing in your kitchen? *You better not let my sled see that, or it'll be jealous!
toydoc 08-18-2002, 10:53 AM Sled Dogg I'm in Algonac, 5min from Anchor Bay. That sled is on the ice almost ever weekend if we have ice.
Steven, I have a kitchen in the garage. That may be a sign that I spend to much time in it *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
TallCool1 08-20-2002, 07:32 PM One of my favorite Yammis was the late 80's SRV's...anyone remember those? *Would be nice to see a pic of one of those in nice condition. *Used to always remind me of Stevie Ray Vaughn.
Sled Dogg 08-20-2002, 07:50 PM I can buy a 83 or 84 vmax and a 84 srv if I want from a neighbor I grew up next to. He bought them new and they have only been run every few years. Vety low miles. They have VERY nice covers unlike what they make nowadays.
Caleb
BGTRK19472 08-27-2002, 04:38 PM I agree I think The Vmax 4 platform was the best that yamaha made in the 90's Here is a Pic Of one I had.
toydoc 09-03-2002, 07:05 PM I changed the look of my 76 SRX.

How much have you lowered that thing? *You use it only for drags?

Ah ah ah,
The twin chassis for the 500/600 was not the same as the Vmax4 platform. *The Shogun had a wider frontal area and an intimidating center-hood vent system.
Still, I liked the look of the twin Vmax chassis tool.
jwheeler 09-03-2002, 08:17 PM yea the decal change looks great doc, do you ever run that thing or is it just a show piece?? http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif
Looks great toydoc.......................... Now you better spend some time with that beautiful wife of yours. * *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

toydoc 09-05-2002, 07:13 PM LabradorBoy, " How much have you lowered that thing? *You use it only for drags?"
The Vmax-4 is lowered 2" all the way around and used only for drags now.
jwheeler, the SRX was raced every year from 1976~1995 then took time off, it will be on the ice this year.
