Hey whats up fellas , finally got the missing key issue resolved ( new cylinder ordered at dealer near my house will call in march when its in) for now its wired with a hidden toggle and works mint. Ok just had my buddy over to assist in installing new drive belt and while doing we notice that there was a crack in the on the main clutch that you could see on the top and it went down along side the belt to the bottom. Need to know about that and if any one know what the comprssion should be in the cylinders , also any good ideas on where to order parts online , and if anyone has any ideas on where i can get a reverse kit and an electric start kit cheap . Also i took the sled out today and she ran rough ( first time running since last january) but as i rode she came around very well. Hey puree dont you have a down and out vmax wanna dump some parts lol .... by the way its a 96 vmax 600. Any info would be greatly appreciated. SWRules i will try to take a pic tommorow and post if needed.

I havent heard of any other place to get an electric starter kit or reverse kit other than through a yamaha dealership. As for the clutch problem, havent ever seen anything like that before other than a starter ring that came off a friends arctic cat. Id definately have to say replace the clutch ASAP, u dont want that thing flying apart on u, or leaving u stranded on the trail at best. Those components on the clutch have to withstand some preety extreme forces and conditions, and the slightest defect could spell disaster. I have been hit in the face with a flyweight of a chainsaw idling, and it hurt like a b****!, left a scar on my chin, and thats only a chainsaw with little power and it was hardly spinning at all, thats nothing compared to a sled. Definately best to have it replaced and save urself the trouble of damaging ur sled or urself or someone else. A for checking ur compression, go to a local yamaha dealership or local repair shop and ask to borrow theyre tool to check compression, or even a local high school might be willing to let u borrow theyre tool.

replace that clutch immediately,,, you will end up having that thing grenade on you while driving down the trail and you will be replacing a lot more than the clutch. as for compression, mine was still pulling 120 on both sides,,, I havent tested it since it died though. I do have quite a few parts that I will probably be coming off of. I also have the electic start on mine, and would probably sell it as an entire kit. What would probably work out better for you is to just pm me with what you are looking for. I could probably work you out a better deal at just buying the entire sled. You would then have your clutch, and your electic start, and if you dont have reverse, mine does, you could put that right on also. There are a lot of good parts in her, but there are some bad ones also,,, seat is no good, hood is no good, track is fair, tunnel is tweaked and motor is seized
Now with that said, it makes you wonder what is good,,,lol
electric start, reverse, windshield, gauges, head and tail light, drive and driven clutch, pipe and can, flatslide carbs, gear box with gears, v force 2 reeds, hood shroud, suspension, front shocks and skis,,,,
so there is still lots of good parts in her,,,, pm me and let me know what you would need,,,,
