I've seen some adds in the magazines for opening up(cutting) + installing clips in the closed window tracks. Whats goin on? Did the oem's mess up? I've heard these tracks create a lot of friction. I have my opinion just wondering whats yours?

I would think alot less snow gets into the sliders to keep 'em lubed.

I have heard the reason they went to the closed window is because that would keep the snow in the slides and keep them lubed better. *I doo wonder also if the oem's messed up?

Closed window tracks are a joke! This is the manufactures way to cut costs. They say the tracks are lighter and free's up some power, BULL! lighter yes but with the extra heat created by less clips it actually takes more power to run it.
Look at a used track sometime and you can see where the hi-fax is running on the rubber! Rubber and plastic dont mix.
That's my 2 cents worth * http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif
