Hi,

Sled is a 1970 Moto Ski Grand Prix. Motor is a Sachs SA-340ss.

I just finished rebuilding the motor and thought i would rewire while i was at it. Problem is i don't know what to do with the headlights on this thing. I have 3 wires coming out of the motor. 1 blue, the other 2 are yellow. I know blue is for ignition.. which is fine. I've already had the machine running. I'm not to sure what to do with the 2 yellow wires. There is a 2 wire regulator/rectifier bolted to the chassis. 1 yellow wire, 1 black. Attached to the hood is what looks to be like the old ballast resistors (round made of ceramic with about 10 winds of wire going around it) which all of the headlights connect to. I'm assuming that is the regulator.

Anyone have any ideas on how i should hook this all up? It's basically the only thing leaving this sled from being fully functional.

Any help would be appreciated.

Take a look in the Technical Information section at jdsleds.com. Look specifically at the wiring diagram for the Spitfire (Kohler). It looks similar to what you describe.

Maybe this will help.
