Well this weekend was the first time i ever went snowmobiling and i must say it was a blast. I still prefer riding my sportbike but this definately help get me through the winter without it.

First thing i noticed is how comfortable the 2005 MXZ Renegade 600 SDI was to sit on and ride.
Next Thing i noticed was how freaking fast it would accelerate.

Yes my first time riding was on a brand new renegade it had a a whole 250 km on it.

I started on a small lake learning who to control the sled then hit some trail out by the parry sound area.
This leaves me with some questions.

The sled seemed very twitchy like the skis had a mind of their own.
Is that normal for all sleds or just this model or not normal at all.

Also is it normal to for this sled to slide very easly in loose powder. ill explain.
I was on a private trail at a camp and missed a corner so i went off into the powder and followed where someone else had dont the same. at one point i was going sideays on an incline and the sled started sliding down the hill sideways and i just barely missed a tree. is it normal for a sled to slide like that at slow speeds?

Sorry this post is kinda long!

No, twitchyness is definatly not normal for most sleds. Not sure on that model if it's a result of the skis they use or what, but mine is extremely stable at speed.
As for the "sliding down the hill", I'm guessing that you mean that you were sidehilling, and hard are hard time doing anything other than going gradually downhill? That comes with expirience. You need to unweight the ski on the downhill side, and get all the weight on the other. A snowmobile in powder is like a motor bike, it leans into the turns, so on a hill, to keep going straight you need get the track level.

Sport bikes are fun, but they don't offer the freedom that snowmobiles do, and you don't have to ride over crowded and over policed roadways.

the darting is the settings not being adjusted right on the suspension and skis for that sled and your weight, etc.

With proper adjustments that will not be an issue.

Without studs you will slide more in general. Especially on a downhill.

The precisions skis are not great in powder in general, but on the trails setup properly they are great.

I haven't been real happy with the precisions in the powder either so I'm trying some SLP powder pro skis, the should be here any day now. I will let you know how they work out. Jason
