I bought a 2002 MXZ R 800 Its has a mechanical fuel gauge and I cant stand it. Ski-doo’s web site says the electric fuel gauge is optional. Would it be possible to buy the equipment needed and add it on myself and how hard would it be to do?

thanks

The sled will be wired for it. The kit is available from your dealer. I'm not sure of the cost. It's easy to install. You will need a hole saw to drill a holes for the gauge and the sending unit. The instructions are included with the kit.

thanks for the info, do you know if you would need to drill into the tank for the install?

Yes, but if you pop your seat off, you'll be able to see exactly where the hole will be drilled. It has a kind of built-in template.

If I recall, that kit should cost you about $150-175 CDN or so.
