Lay back hard on the tail, turn your shoulders, and swing the tip over the top. Then try to put the shoulder you just turned to on the water (still laying away from the boat as hard as you can). You'll be swithching from one wake to the other so fast you won't remember which side of the boat you're on. Don't try to just switch from edge to edge. The weight HAS to be on the tail of the ski. (All this is assuming you have a decent slalom ski.) Let me know once you've had a chance to try it. Hope this helps.

I've yet to ever get fully up and locked out. I want to this year. I'm the best on a tube., preferably the older small ones as they are harder to control.

Ya my ski grabs pretty hard. I have a Obrien rumor Comp.(It's Red). I was out on the weekend and I think I have goten better already. I was looking at a couple of sites and they say to keep your elbows at your side and suport most of the pull on your wake side hand. I think I still need more tail weight as you say idoski; but just by puting your arms down man I must have been going about 60mph + over the wake. All I need now is to get the spray off the ski larger and constent like a water wall.

I haven't been barefootin' since my last hardwater concussion about 10 years ago. Sometimes you just get too cocky and forget what it's all about. I paid for it.

What length ski, how tall are you and what do you weigh. If you're not putting up a wall by laying your shoulder on the water, your ski may be too long or your patches too far forward. I don't know what boots are on that ski either.

What foot do you have forward and why did you choose that foot?

Also what length rope are you using?

I know... lots of questions, but I think I can help you some more with a little more info.

I am using a Obrien Rumor Comp I think it is a 67". I am 6' 200lbs. I put my left foot forward in a 990 rap up binding. I picked my left foot when I just started slaloming because it felt like I had more control.(I think I may try the other foot once just to see if that is the case) I usally run my rope at 15 off. Never full length rope.

I can get a large spray of water like 15' ; but it is a broken pattern; not solid like I would like.

What do you think??

That ski may actually be a little small for you. Shouldn't keep the spray down any though. I started with my left foot forward also. All the other guys skiid that way. But I found that I had much better control over the strength in my legs with my right foot forward. Besides on a small lake here, you have to ski counterclockwise which means you are on the right side of the boat in the turns. With your right foot forward, your back foot is not laying back in the water. It's on top. Have you tried a regulation rope? It's much easier to learn what you want to with a long rope. Then shorten as you work thru the slalom.

Keep your back straight and just lean back and to the right hard until the water is on your shoulder. Then just get a picture of the spray then!!
