I understand there was quite a bit of snow loss due to the warm whether. :bash: I plan on sledding there in about a week. I see it is trail conditions are limited on the OFSC website and closed on the Hornepayne Snowmobile club website. Is the trail open? Should I trailer around this? Would be a shame. I enjoyed myself last year.

Hiya, The trail is closed from Hornepayne to Bambinos. Sounded like it's basically plowed down by loggers, and they just don't have any snow. They've also stopped grooming on the Hornepayne side of the trail to Dubreuilville. The snow pretty much stops halfway - Dubreuilville has tons of snow and their trails have held up throughout the Meltdown. But Hornepayne has been thin on snow all year. But hey.......... maybe a snow storm will blow in with the Cold Front that is on it's way??? Mo

I read on another site that Bambino's is closed. Can anyone confirm this? It's 108 miles from Hearst to Hornepayne. Some sleds might make it if you're easy on the throttle. The old route was around 94 miles which most sleds should be able to do.

I see on Ontario Conditions that a couple of folks have been by Bambino's & it is closed. I guess if you're sledding thru that area, you'd best watch your gas usage.

Spoke with my cousin in Hornepayne yesterday. Definately closed. What are other people doing for gas. 108 miles from Hornepayne to Hearst is pretty nip and tuck for most people. I've been through there twice. Once last year and the year before. That former railway line has some beautiful bridges / scenery on it. Sure would miss the view from them. I never noticed the old trail or the other trail that goes to Hearst. Does this trail exist and if so how is it? We were hoping to go on a run in this direction again this year. I thought that there were tour operators running this route. This sure must put a wrinkle into their plans as well.
