Brian, Jeff, Brian, Dave, Keith, I know there are more, but I'm terrible with names. :bash:
Thank You Everybody!

RollerDoo 02-12-2005, 03:12 PM Yo yo we are back in Kzoo. After being pulled over not 10 miles outside of Newberry on our way home last night and then being followed by a state boy from Trout Lake to the bridge. But all is good, got away with no tickets. Talk about being paranoid. Once crossing the bridge I was kinda glad we had to leave last night. I actually counted somewhere in the neighborhood of 35 to 40 trailers going north...from what I could see through the trees to the north bound side. Trails gotta be getting beat up now.
I have to say that this is the most fun I have had in a long time and hope we can maybe get together again before the end of the season. A big thanks to all of you for you help in getting us loaded, unloaded and starting my uncooperative sled. I know its very hard for Cathy to do it by herself all the time and every little bit of help is appreciated, even if it was just helping with putting on covers.
We do have lots of pictures and a couple video clips. As soon as someone puts up a designated area for pics we will post them.
Thanks again,
Fred & Cathy
New area added in the Gallery.

Mikadoo 02-12-2005, 07:50 PM Just got in from the big ride in Newberry. Even though the conditions wern't the best for sleddi'n, meeting with everyone and being able to put faces with the names was great!
Had a blast, especially Friday night with the raffling and party afterwards.
I know a lot of work went into this event and it was greatly appricated.
Hopefully next year we may all be able to do it again somewhere different even though Zellar's was a pretty darn nice set up........ :christmas:
permafrost 02-12-2005, 08:08 PM Glad to hear it was a blast. IT certainly is nice putting faces to the names. We were praying that the snow gods would cooperate. Looking forward to hearing all the stories and seeing the pics and vids.

dooman 02-13-2005, 11:08 AM great to hear. wish I could have ,or should I say wanted to make the trek up. but had I you can bet it would have been warm and no snow. thats my luck. however the weather is bike riding so.
puree 02-13-2005, 11:40 AM got in late last night after that LONG ride home. I had a blast up there!!
I do wanna thank everyone for putting up with the ol cat that went down the first day, but we got her up and running pretty quick. Thanks Dave for the trailer and the blue collar comedy tour movie (man they dont know what they missed). Thanks Brian and Keith (and everyone else who brought raffle items in) for putting together a great time.
I have some pretty good pics and videos also, and when I get more from everyone else, I will put them into a video and then burn them on cds for anyone on the trip that wants one. All I need is email addy's,,,,
Thanks again for a great time and I look forward to riding with you all again.
Fred,,, I think you coulda climbed that hill,,, it wasnt THAT big LOL
Brian
TallCool1 02-13-2005, 01:33 PM MAN!!! Am I ever sorry I had to miss this event, but I really couldn't help it. Will definately be there next year, where ever it is!!! How many folks showed up? Any racing action/braggin' rights to talk about??????
mxzwfo 02-13-2005, 02:13 PM I had a blast!!!! Thanks to everybody that helped out to make the ride a success!!!! I think we had only 21 people present at the ride. 19 actually got to ride more than 7 miles due to a break down. It would have been nice if we had more riders, but maybe next year.
The ride was for the most part uneventful other than puree loosing a coolant line (easy fix), jtkennedy loosing a slider block for the sway bar and myself on Wednesday deciding to step off my sled dooing a round 90mph and tumbling close to 100 yards!!! Only injury is a SORE back (the Angels were looking over me). It could have been a lot worse if not fatal. The sled went straight down the trail and not a scratch on it!!! Jumped on and rode back to the trailer. On Thursday about 1 mile from getting back to the staging area my sled started to loose power. It was running on 1 cylinder. I got it loaded and spent the day Friday resting my back. Today, I pulled the engine down and found that I had lost a circlip on the mag cylinder, destroying the piston, cylinder and head...oh well, thats sledding. It will be running by next weekend!!!!

Not a chance buddy. You had mother nature already thinking that you were going and she tried her hardest to put a damper on it and failed. We had great riding every day! We even had one 150 mile day while there. That was with 18 riders in the group!
What a great group of people to ride with!
Thanks to Brian,Keith,Brian (and others) for organizing, planning, phone calls, recruiting for raffle prizes. Brian (puree) a personal thanks for the hard work!
Highlights for me............being in the fast group with Jeff (jtkennedy)-- that dude rocks! Only loosing a bumper (and a little pride) in my stunt  Meeting up again with the people from the Haliburton ride, and meeting new people.Laughing to myself watching Keith trying to get the rig parked in the staging area on Thursday morning, sorry buddy w00t Riding with Fred who has no limits when it comes snowmobiling, dude rocks! Watching Dave (kid rocker) dance with :undercover: :dazed:  Spending time with my friend Dan (Digger) who moved to Shawano from Watertown 2 years ago. Partying in the lounge after each ride with the whole crew. Chili :inlove: Did good in the raffle :undercover: :christmas: Helping Mikadoo when his sled pooped(stator)on the last day.
Awesome time,Awesome people, all of them. Many more friendships made which would have never happened if it wasn't for SW,thanks Corey!
Can't wait until next year! Northern Wisconsin? Maybe? :lookaround:
Any volunteers to do some clutch work for me? haha :hallo1:
mxzwfo 02-13-2005, 06:59 PM I forgot about your bumper and Mikes stator...
jtkennedy9 02-13-2005, 11:26 PM I'd like to thank everyone, too. I couldn't have asked for a better group to ride and hang out with. The whole trip was a blast! I'll get some pics up soon. Special thanks to Brian, Keith and Brian for organizing the trip. Thanks to Brian (mxzwfo), Pete (mxz7) and Dan (digger) for allowing me to not have to check my hand mirror. lol Thanks to the fast group for not hazing me too much for our unplanned trip to Seney. Thanks to kid rocker for watching my back. lmao Thanks to Scott and Terry for the Sloppy Joes. Thanks to mikadoo, snow4brains, Robert Young, fred and cathy and everyone else for making the trip a very special one.
Big thanks to Corey. If it wasn't for this site, I wouldn't have met everyone and made such incredible memories.

Brian,I was trying to forget about the bumper thing myself :whistling:
84EVR 02-14-2005, 09:06 AM Sorry I couldn't make it. I was busy repairing my JUNK.
So how were the conditions?
I'm guessing not all that good.?
mxzwfo 02-14-2005, 09:22 AM The conditions right out of Newberry were a little rough and snirty. After that the were not to bad other than the logging road 422. It was plowed to almost nothing with a nice layer of ice. The trail around to the west side of the Pine Stump on Tuesday was awesome. Towards the end of the week it got a little choppy. Trails north and east were good for the most part all week. As we were leaving, we checked out the trails south. The were great too due to nobody riding south and west because they thought (and we) that the snow would be marginal.
Snow is back in the forcast this week and they should have plenty by the week end.
Brian
Forester 02-14-2005, 10:00 AM Glad everyone had a great time on the ride, I was in Newberry myself checking the trail conditions for our Poker/Fun Run on Feb 17. I'm sure I pasted you guys at some point. I asked a few groups along the trail if they were with the annual ride and had no luck. I rode Wednesday afternoon and Thursday, both days logging 150+ miles. The trails were in great shape, with the exception trails leading into towns. I wish I could of hooked up and meet some of you it would have been fun to put some faces with names. If you pasted a lone rider on a black t660 touring turbo that was me.
I will be in Newberry from feb 15 to 20. Again our fun run will be feb 17 if any of you are in the area. The stops will be Andy's in Seney, Dunes Saloon in Grand Marais and Redz Wolf Inn. We will be meeting at Zellar's for the start and finish.
Glad it was a safe ride. Again sorry I didn't tag up with anyone.

Just so ya know there JT, I wanted to ride with you guys up front, but I had other responsibilities. You ARE going to get up to my place in Irons to ride and you can bet I won't be looking in the mirrors for ya. :D
Seriously, I hope you and your dad can make it some time this season yet.
jtkennedy9 02-14-2005, 04:31 PM We'd love to come up - just waiting for the snow. I have no doubts that if you were behind me, I wouldn't have to check the mirror. lol Thanks again for everything, Keith.

All you have to do is sell one of those great prizes you won and you could buy a new bumper plus a spare. :D
jtkennedy9 02-15-2005, 03:01 PM Or give one of your prizes to your poor brother who didn't win anything. lol

You won the respect and friendship of all in attendance. You're rich brother!
jtkennedy9 02-15-2005, 03:17 PM You're right, thanks Keith.
nmbrone 02-15-2005, 10:03 PM My first time I've ever ridden in the U.P.
I'm glad I went simply because Arctic Cat needed some representation.
I was afraid initially it would be a lot of slow riding, but following JT proved to be quite the workout.
Kevin and Katie's sled problem turned out to be a very simple electrical fix. A corroded wire under the kill switch. Total fix $1.85.
They appreciate the courtesy even though they broke down.
I'll try to post more often now.
I understand I picked up something in the raffle, and I'm waiting to see what it was.
puree 02-16-2005, 01:48 AM You represented cat well!!! Looks like me and you were the cat brothers. Really glad you joined the site. You are one member or our big happy family. Now I hope to see you at next years ride "if not sooner"
Pete,,, I will see what we can get from that video footage and maybe we can get ya a new bumper,,,,lol
Jeff,,,, rode fast??? really???? I didnt know his sled could do that hehehe
"had to do it,,,, with all the rubbing I took from our first trip"
