I've been looking to do it for a few weeks now, though I'd be going fromo North Bay.
It's doable in one day, roughly 10-12 hours. You can cut time off by taking the lake in places if you want to. You can also take the rail bed from Crystal falls to North Bay. It's unmarked trail, but pretty straight forward.
I'd strongly suggest waiting until we get a little more snow. There's good ridiing right now to the north east of North Bay, but south the trails are a little dry, and the lake is nothing but glare ice. Today started out promissing, but the snow turned to freezing rain, so that's not going to help much.
I know there have been lots of people running into trouble over heating the last few days (myself included) though Saturday I was out on the quad and when I spoke to sledders they said they weren't having problems like they were during the week.
If you wanted to leave from North Bay I'd definatly be interested in hooking up for the ride. I've got a pretty flexible schedule, I just need some advance notice.

Cool, sounds good.
Actually I was just over in Noëlville yesterday (in truck) and the trails are looking better. There's also a skim of crusty snow on the lake now instead of just being a sheet of glass like it was last weekend.
I'm going for a ride this afternoon. I'll let you know what the conditions are like.
