Was there any sign of a 700cc REV at the Ski-Doo show?

Zog - I would love to see the 700 return, with sdi would be sweet :D . In the ski-doo press release, I did not read of a 700 although they really dont mention any new engines so I am guessing there isnt any new engine sizes or other new engines with sdi?? :( .

A 700 HO SDI would even be better! Looks like we won't get our wish, though. :(

It would be a waste

Skidoo is doing the right thing pertaining to engine sizes IMO

600-800-1000

Look at the sport bike world 600-1000

Only Suzuki makes a 750 now

I comes down to $$$$$$

All the other manufacturers have a 700. IMHO Ski-Doo needs something to compete with them. The Series 3 700 was a great engine; powerful and dependable. A high output, fuel injected version could fill that gap.

A 700 REV would be a killer machine, but it would cut into the sale of the 600-800 REVs, especially the eights. BRP knows this, and the bottom
line controls everything.......my $.02 Gremmy

Remember folks,Cat dropped out of the 700 class briefly, then next thing you know,(DRUM ROLL PLEASE)......F7 was born. Then the 600 dropped out for a year. Still a lot of dust has to settle before the predominent engine sizes are determined,( two stroke vs four stroke, ect.) SWRules

I see your point, but for every 800 they don't sell, they would be selling a 700. They would still have the same number of sales, and with a more trouble-free engine. Fewer warranty claims!

cat dropped out of the 700 class because they could not compete. doo dropped the 700 because a clutched 600 ho will run with or in most cases outrun a 700. now put the 700 in the rev ,hmm. never dynoed a 600, whats the numbers? my 700 had 126 and that was high for the 700 in 00., . most others tested had only 122 or so.

:lmao: maybe thats it they cannot have the 700 beating the 800. I know some that have.

I was hoping this too, I would have love to see a 700 H.O, but like u guys say the marketing sales on the 800 H.O would be at a downlow, i would be the first to buy the 700 no doubt.

A 700 REV would run circles around a 600HO...and no flaking rings!

Zog is right - 800 sales are down and a 700 would add huge sizzle on the showroom floor ( although they wouldnt be sitting there long!!). The 700 is the best of the series 3 engines IMO, and sdi would bring it up to par with any modern 2-stroker out there. Give it about 130hp and I'll be a happy sledder :D . If they dont want to interfear with the 800 ho sales, then make the 700 an sdi only and the 800 ho could stay etec with the carbs. Techy's will go for the 700sdi, and the guy's who like to tune will go for the 800 ho.

And the circle continues, a given manufacterer will come out with an engine-chassis pkg. that dominates it's class for a year or two.(Pol. Liberty-edge,Cat laydown-F series, ect.) Then someone else will one up them and take over for a while and so on. I don't think doo will come up with any new engines unless they are state of the art,and can not only compete with the likes of the F7,but dominate, at least till someone else tops them........and so on and so on.......................... :dazed:
