Well im still having headlight problems. The dang thing keeps burning out. My tail light just went to but found the short under the seat but my headlight just keeps going. Ive checked all the wiring and nuthing. The only time it burns out is when i give it about 3/4 throttle or more and hold it there and like maybe 400 - 500 feet later boom it goes. but if i jsut putt around it will be fine besides it gets bright then goes very dim and the brightens and dims over and over for about 5 minutes (when the sled is still warming up) but after that it stays bright until i give it 3/4 throttle or more. What do you guys think it could be? im getting very ticked off and frustrated cuz i cant ride at night no more.

Hey there. For this problem, I have to ask u if u have mnade sure that all ur bulbs and fuses are working, becuase even one bulb going out can cause everything else to fail. Not sure if the 89 Phazer is like that, but my buddies ski-doo Everest was like that, blew one bulb and the rest went. It really sounds like the electricity used to power the electrical equipment isnt working right, and not regualting it the way it shud. It kinda seems like its un-regualted like if u spin a generator, the faster u spin it, the more power is generated and the slower u go the less power is made. Might wanna make sure thats working correctly. Hope this helps!!

The more rpm's the more voltage/amperage produced , you must have a bad voltage regulator or wires that go in & out of it somewhere along the line are nfg

Was just thinking the same thing, sounds like you've got a bad voltage regulator or a bad ground.
