Don't bring any piped loud sleds or the Quebec cops might get ya.
Make sure you have your paper work in order to avoid any hassels as well.
Do hit he Ballet if theres no woman folk with ya unless of course they like the ballet too :)
Oh, and please stop referring to Quebec as Canada. Its like referring to Indiana or Idaho or whatever state you choose as "THE USA."

Sled ownership & proof of insurance. Drivers licence & birth certificate (when crossing the border).

Don't bring any firearms! I don't care if you "pack" when @ home.

Just got back from a week in Quebec. Took it easy, only 1100 miles.

Never even saw a trail warden or police. NOT like in Ontario where the gestapo are out.

Don't forget to keep the sheet that came with your trail permit and mail it in with your home insurance details and you get a good chunk back

Try and use a few French words.

Bonjoooor means hello

merci means thank you

When you want a beer say

Un biere gros s'il vous plait

oon beeyay grow seelvooplet

Plein means fill her up!

Get ready to see lots of Americans most likely.
I'd guess that at least 75% of the sledders I chat with around here are Americans on vacation. It blows my mind what a huge industry winter tourism has become.

decee has a very good idea there. Buy a french phase book and try out some simple phrases. Most Quebecers will respond to you in English, but they will really appriciate the effort you've made in trying to speak their language. And don't get frustrated if there is a language barrier. Someone around will be bilingual and will help you out.

BTW decee, it's "une grosse biere s.v.p." The whole masculine/feminine things is hard for anglo's to get, but the secret is to remember that all the pleasures in life are feminine. Wine being the one exception.

Just follow everybodys advice and you will enjoy your stay. Grand Mere is a beautiful area to ride, and they have had some good snow so far. Just watch you speed limit while driving on highway 55, if you keep it at 115km/h they wont bother you. Have Fun !

A portion of the Quebec trail pass fee includes liability insurance. If you already have liability insurance, the FMCQ provide a form that you can send to the Quebec snowmobile association and the will refund you a portion of your trail pass fee

All the info you seem to have received has been on the money. Proper paperwork is always an essential. If you are not use to border procedures here are a few tips... Only answer the questions you are directly asked. If the border guard asks your passenger (for example) where they live , and citisenship , let them answer . Unless it is a child , the border guards want answers directly from the person they aim the questions at. Your spending five days , so this won't affect you . But so you know there is a 48 hour rule on boose , and cigarettes. So if you stop a duty free before crossing, make sure your stay north of the border is at least this amount of time, or at least tell the border guard you plan on staying 2 days, Even if it is not true. They won't know either way, but it helps you clear customs quicker. Saves you paying duty. Have all of the passengers I.D's in hand with your Duty Free receipts (if you have one, or more for each person) So as soon as the guard askes for these things , you can be ready. They appreciate these little things. Oh you will need your lic. plate no., and State for Duty Free Store . They put it on your reciept. Anyways if you are use to the border , the info I've given may mean nothing , but I thought I would add it to help your total trip be a good experience. If you need anyother info on Border procedures I will be glad to help. I've been crossing them for 14 years , at least 3 times down(to U.S) and 3 times home a week. Good luck ! Have a great ride. Let us know where your crossing to the Duty Free Lic. Plate thing is not at all crossings. Some just need your name. Some of the smaller crossings need you to call your duty free order in ahead of your arrival to them .

That's funny the SQ had radar out in the Noranda/Val D'or area last week & were nailing people w/ fines that ranged from 300 to 600 bucks. RevIAm can elaborate. Thanks for the welcome wagon guys.

Don't forget to try the Pouti'ne......My apologies if I spelled it wrong (fries with brown gravy and farmers cheese, awesome!!!!) Unfortunately not available in the states.....I hope I don't sound like a dumbass here but I love it up there. Iv'e actually never ridden In Quebec or any where else north of the border, unfortunately. I lived and traveled with a rock band called "Mask" a few years back. We played the Peel pubs in Montreal, then went to Ottawa,Sudbury,Kingston, and Thunder Bay to name a few. Just wanted to share my love for the people and food.....RevRocker
