How fast are they?

I'd guess close to 100mph if geard right. They crank out about 94-97 HP.

That's pushing it.

I hit 87 on a handheld GPS with 20/43 gearing, pump gas and trail jetting. *I'd imagine with top-speed gearing and race gas/jets, the low 90's would be easily obtainable. *Don't know how accurate those gps are tho. . . . .

That'd be a 2000 mxzx 440LC race sled (for sale by the way).

A buddy of mine has a '98 mxzx,and a 2000 mxzx.The '98 kicks the '00's butt!!! *We rode side by side across a lake to see if our speedo's were reading the same....and that little '98 ran darn close to 100 mph (i'd say about 97-98 close) the '00 only could get up to high 80's maybe touched 90.. I dont know what gearing each sled has,but they are both factory stock. (we were going by speedo,not gps)

In 99 doo went to race and trail heads both supplied with the sled , the 98 makes alot more power than the 99,00,01, etc *WITHOUT, the race domes installed,The 98 is a X treemly fas machine for what it is. I run 79 to 81 mph in 500` on my 99 on grass, I guess the top speed with the speed gearing would be about 102 with the race heads and about 95 without, butthat is just a guess.

At the end of last winter we were radaring for fun in tee shirt weather and my wife 98 mxzx 440 with stock jetting, and gearing ran 93 mph all day. At the end of the day I noticed she had some belt slippage so I adjusted the secondary a little and she gained 2 more mph. Anyone interested its for sale. Speedzone@sympatico.ca
