This is the last season I am going to get out of my stock track. With my clutch kit and geared down I am happy with the power and performance I am just looking for more traction. I am looking at a camoplast 1.25 , and I haven't decided on witch studs yet ( any suggestions ?) Any ZX owners running a 1.25 with studs. I know my first investment will be a deep tunnel protector.
With a 1.25" track looks like I will have to go with 1.325 or 1.450 " studs. Is this going to be stretching it ?
Is it worth looking into a ripsaw ?
Sorry for all the questions, just planning out my summer projects.

Do you have studs now? I switched from unstudded stock short lug to an unstudded 1.25 Ripsaw this year. HUGE improvement, assuming you're in snow. I highly recommend it. The only thing it doesn't handle well is ice (obviously...there's no substitute for studs on ice.)

Because I ride mostly in Vermont, it is a good idea to have a few studs. I have 144 now, but with a deeper lug track I was going to go with 96. We get a lot of hills and sides of roads that get spun down to ice.

i have an mxz700 and i want from OEM track with 144 to a 1.5 paddle, no studs and i love it huge improvements, my sled is also geared right down and set up for watercross in the summer and any powder i can find, i run the lake all the time with it and its good the problem with any stud at all is the risk of throwing it into the heat exchanger my friend has a rev ss with 1.25 paddle with 96 studs he was taking the ice home when one of his stud took a nice chunk out of his heat exchange lost all his coolant blew the engine, my friend with MXZX400 has taken out his exchanger twice with studs, so its up to u. but u have to ask yourself is a little bit of traction really worth the risk of blown engine? my opinnion go and get a ripsaw 1.5 u wont regret it

I put a 1.25" Ripsaw (no studs) on my 01 MXZ 600 last year and saw a huge improvement over the stock track. It is an awesome track and really helps you get the power to the snow.

I ran an 1.25 track with 144 Woody's studs for 2 winters. I had a few studs that were bent but not broken. I used gold diggers with steel backers. The track held up fine with no pull throughs or tears. I sold the track to mudweiser 2 years ago and I think he's still using it. Proper stud installation is critical with studs that long! The cost of studs and backers will set you back about $350 not installed.
Today, I would go with the Ripsaw track. The track does perform like no other.

I have a buddy that got a 1.25 paddle with snowtire studs on the end of the paddles. He loves it, and you dont need the protectors on the heat exchangers

Thank you for the replys guys ...... I think I am going to look into the ripsaw 1.25, and run that for the winter. If I feel I absolutly need studs than I can add at a later date.
Thanks again,
Jake
