whats up with the different tensions for the springs like Tension at 1 1/8 - 254, Tension at 2 3/8 - 136, I ask this because my sled goes good and normal for about an 1/8 of the throttle then out of nowhere it takes off like a bat out a hell, I dont mind this much but it sucks in the trails around here, would a stiff primary do this, if not what would and how can I change it to my likings. Thanks

you have two tensions. first on is engagement second is operating rpm(max). The weights help the sring to control the engagement.
You may have notched weights. The hold a certain rpm till the centrifugal force allows them to over come the notch.
On my 96 ultra I had a gold spring with a gold secondary with a 45-36 helix. The weights were stock.

I'm running an almond square primary with 10-58's and a silver/blue secondary (in position 2.) What you are describing, from all of the material I've read, is quite common with Ultra's. These triples seem to be sluggish out of the hole but when you hit 20-30 mph, you better be hanging on to it! I've been told that you can make modfications to the carb (drilling out the pilot outlet) and this is supposed to help out the sluggish bottom end....I haven't tried it yet but might consider it.
