I have an 88 Wildcat that hesitates when you give her throttle. The thing is only getting about 4 mpg in gas. The thing also drinks oil. Is this just a case where I need to re-jet it? or is there something wrong with the oil injector?

I would say that its mighty rich if its getting 4mpg. Pull the carbs down and see what you have compaired to stock parts (needle jet, jet needle, pilot jet, slides cut away angle and the main jet). I would think that sled should have got 8-10 mpg when new. You can check the oil pump for proper alignment to the mark but I would turn it down untill after you get the carbs straightened out.

your choke is sticking,,,, pull the 2 choke cables out and I would bet you have gotten water in them and the springs are rusted not letting them reseat,,,, my vmax did that to me one time and we couldnt make it from Newberry out to Pine Stump without running out of gas,,,, it was bad
