Hi,
How do you know when to replace the sliders? I looked at the sliders where there is no contact to them and there is quite a bit more material there, but still, I'm not sure how to tell when to replace.

Same thing about carbides... when do you replace?

Again, I'm new to snowmobiling and I'm just finding out about all of these things. I'm trying to do everything I can to keep this sled in great shape. I had a blast on it this weekend. I had alot of friends up riding it as well. I think I'm gonna want them to get their own sleds now. It's tough having so many people ride your sled.

Well, let me know what ya think about the sliders and carbides.

On a lot of sliders there is a groove down the side to indicate max wear. Lokk some place were you have minimum wear; if you have a groove follow down the skid to see if it disappears anywhere...if it does then replace them (replace in pairs). The other method is caliper...measure remaining thickness against machine spec. I recommend capliper.

Can't help you on the carbides....I don't run them.

Thanks,
I did notice that line, I wasn't sure if it was a wear indicator of if my sled had made that mark. That's all I needed to know! Thanks for the help. I think I'll need to get new ones b/c mine were pretty close to that line if not there already in smoe places.

Carbides are really just a matter of opinion--if they're worn down more than you would like, replace them.
