I might be going to look at a suspension, the guys not sure if has the M-10 or SC-10 and im trying to figure out a way to best describe to him.. how to tell what it has before I drive down! Its on a 1997 MachZ 800

I can only tell by me looking at it,but not sure how to explain to him the difference so he can tell me...

M10 only had 2 sets of idler wheels on the outside of the skid. and also 2 shocks, one front, one back, with no rear springs, or coupling blocks.

huh, now I am confused, I have the SC10 suspension and only it doesn't look like your pic Freezerburnt. Mine has only one set of Idlers on the outside middle then the rear ones. however shocks are the same as shown. Do diff models have diff variations on Idlers? the sc10 3 is the same config as mine.

Skidoo had 2 types of SC 10 from 95-2001

Rising rate(MXZ/Machs/FZ) and the Falling rate(fancool mostly)

You have the Falling Rate SC 10 which is the same as the 96 -2001 Fancool Skidoos and 96 Formula STX/SLS,97 Formula 500/583 Liquids

The 96-99 Liquid Skidoos have the rising rate SC 10 which all have the ACM(except 99 FZ500 which had no acm but still was the rising rate SC10)

Falling rate SC 10 are essentially stiffer at the begining on the compression stroke then get soft near the end of the stroke

Rising rate SC 10 are softer at the beginning and progressively get stiffer nearing the end of stroke

So that is why my back is killing me whenever we get to the washboards. Moguls I don't mind to much, I don't bottom out, but the stutter bumps kill me. Thanks for the info, learning new stuff everyday.
