: Ski doo for 2004
I talked to my dealer today and asked him for any secret info for 2004. He said and I quote *"Ski Doo is going to have a new radical sled that would have similarities to the Redline type sleds" Sounds like the Rev is just the begining for the big change. So where is this new sled going to fit? We already have 2 ditch bangers( Rev and MXZ) The ZX will still be around for a while he also stated.
I asked him about having SDI engines in all '04 Doos and he said nope *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif * too bad for that.
No news for tripple guys *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

paul yarek 08-24-2002, 05:32 PM it's a kawky looking son of a gun.
sledcrazy 08-24-2002, 07:39 PM will they still have the REV around for a while too?? *and what about the 800H.O in the REV?
revrnd 08-24-2002, 10:06 PM It would be nice if they'd change the plastic on the ZX chassis for '04. They've had the same plastic since '99.
On the chassis side, I can't think of anything off the top of my head. At least I have a bit on an idea of what I'll be ordering next spring http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
If I hear of anything, I'll post it.

The Rev will be here to stay for a while for sure.
I am hoping that they will use the SDI engine in more applications. Namely the Rev. I will chew on his ear and post it.
If you guys have anything to add or have a question about Doos bright future, post them and I will ask him about it. http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/exclamation.gif
REV RENEGADE *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/inlove.gif ?
PANTERAONE 08-25-2002, 01:14 AM a mach zx!!! we need one
sledcrazy 08-25-2002, 09:38 AM I think ski-doo is trying to make themselves the top of the sledding market, just like every other company, but i think DOO is doing the best job of it, they came out with REV, and this new one next year. *I hope the ZX and ZX-X, and REV chassis stick around for a while. *another thing i wish that ski-doo did for spring ordering was an option for better suspension, like RYDE FX or something like that. *just a clicker option.
Saguenay Bill 08-25-2002, 07:03 PM My dealer told me that the SDI will be the future engine for S/D and that more will follow the 800's for 04. This was in April or May. *He has been right on in the past. I'll know come *Feb if he gave me *the right scoop or not.
Machzzzz1 08-25-2002, 09:50 PM Skidoo may not sell the most but they are the top. *
Skidoo has got some major stuff coming out.
Just think about what they got to play with.
SDI
REV
ZX
809 TRIPLE
800 TWIN
HO engines
They got a barn full of goodies, all they need to do is make some pretty good combos and they would be top seller.
MACH Z(X) with 809SDI would be one of those combos.
HEHEHEHE http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/devil.gif
permafrost 09-17-2002, 05:16 PM One thing ticks me off is the NO-HO for us only summits. *Why do the mountains sleds get the goodies first http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif Need i mention that they are all in ZX-X chassis too. *I really wish i could have those 2 things on my new gade http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif
Steimy 09-17-2002, 07:01 PM Hey 7, You talked to Rob eh? You guys can pretty much believe what mxz7 is tellin' you because we go to the same dealer and Rob Strauss actually helped develope the Rev and has been to Valcourt many times, so I'm sure he knows what's going on, He's more than just a great dealer, He got ski-doo to pay for over $600 dollars in parts last year when my crank went bad with 6000 miles on it.
skidoorider 09-17-2002, 08:43 PM Call me old-fashioned,but some of the "new" stuff is a little too radical for my taste! * http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif *RB
ViperER2 09-17-2002, 10:05 PM ok *-- *your old fashioned! http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
I do understand what you mean though --- but anything that can make the poorly groomed trails easier on the body is the kind of “new” I like…
jwheeler 09-17-2002, 10:14 PM We need the Mach Zx im just waiting to buy a new sled and thats what i want. http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif

Sure did horsecollar. It actually wasn't Rob that told me,but one of his top guys.He said to keep the info to myself. LOL me keep a sercret,ya right!!!
Steimy, are you going to the open house? We should meet up and suck down a few of those freebie brats, and give Shaun a hard time about his big belly. Did you see that guy lately,he is like 350 lbs. LOL

What he was talking about was New shocks. The Redlines have Bilstein shocks with Eibach springs.. Indy car stuff *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
I heard thru the vine that Doo has an agreement with somone that will provide a similar High quaility shock for them.
As for the SDI, they are working on variations now like a batteryless version for the mxz/REV sleds.
Evel
I would like to se REV 800HO SDI!!!!!
louis 09-18-2002, 10:45 AM IMO SkiDoo does not want to piss off new REV owners(me) by one upping them in one year. Competetion is one thing but customer loyalty keeps them coming back. If I hear confirmation that a new rad machine is coming out before I pick up my REV I will cancel my spring machine and hold on to my '02 and eat the deposit.
Mighty RX-1 09-18-2002, 10:59 AM The mountain stuff gets the HO version because of the power they loose due to the altitude.
Machzzzz1 09-18-2002, 11:04 AM IMO I would like skidoo to do what needs to be done to make them the best. *If that means uping the engine size or power in one year then so be it. *At the time of purches I bought my machine because i liked it. *If you keep waiting for skidoo to stop making new sleds so yours will be up to date for more then a year then you will probably never have a new sled.
Skidoo Enginneers said that the 800HO is for higher elevation and all of its upgrades will compliment that kind of driving. *They said in a drag race between a 800HO and 800 at sea level it would be close and anyones game. *Yes the HO is faster and makes more power. *But skidoo didnt put it in the REV for a reason and i think it has a lot to do with not being designed to run at low elevation.
louis 09-18-2002, 03:15 PM Machzzz ,
This would be my third new 800 in three years.
I just hope they are not stringing along the consumer by holding back technological advancements every year.
Steimy 09-18-2002, 04:33 PM Mxz7, Yeah I'll probably go to Rob's open house, I didn't get my little card yet, when is it? Oct 5.
all REVd up 09-18-2002, 05:26 PM I,m with louis, its one thing to develop new tech , but its another thing to have new tech now but only apply it to next years models so people(me) will buy a new sled every year. Last year I bought 02 mxz800 and this year bought REV 800 not because I did not like last years sled but because I want the "so called" best that Ski-doo has to offer. So $24000 later I managed to keep on top. Don't get me wrong I love the new direction Ski-doo is going. But please Ski-doo give me the best of everything you can do tech wise in one sled model year and don't hold out. REV HO SDI 800. * http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/inlove.gif
ViperER2 09-19-2002, 08:59 PM all -
i couldn't agree more! but don't count on it, its goofs like us that buy new every year that keeps'em going!
couldn't they at least send me a free hat or something :0(
</span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote (Steimy @ Sep. 18, 2002, 4:33pm)</td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">Mxz7, Yeah I'll probably go to Rob's open house, I didn't get my little card yet, when is it? Oct 5.[/b][/quote]
Yep, its the 5th. I'll be the one with 2 hot blondes all over me.
See you there horsecoller.
all REVd up 09-19-2002, 09:15 PM A free hat would be nice, at least I got a letter from Bombardier thanking me for spending too much on a sled this year and even was nice enough to offer me a $250 cash rebate if I spent another $10gs on a ATV. Their dreaming*****
Steimy 09-19-2002, 09:23 PM Louis, look at all the improvements that came about when the zx was released. Just from 99 to 00 there was a larger engine size available, a redesigned rear skid (which I think was a huge difference), DPM. I would imagine there will probably definitely be improvements to the 04 REV.
