Who has recenlty made the change from triple powered sled to twins, which do you prefer and why. I know aside from maintenance cost and some durability issues with triples I just feel they have the greatest sound and mid range pulling power. I haven't made the switch yet but I will next upgrade!

I don't want to give up my triple either but they are getting pretty old now, and if i want new suspension technology I need to go with a new twin. The triple could be a bit heavier but the extra power potential compensates for that imo, Iguess I will see waht happens in the next while, for now I'm happy with my Gt se 800

<<<if i want new suspension technology I need to go with a new twin>>>
I would beg to differ. The Edge or ProX suspension bolted under a tripple work awesome, make outstanding performance trail cruisers. Much less money than buying a new sled, or even a decent used one.
The tripple does not do as well as a twin when there is air involved (Big bumps and jumps), cornering is debatable, and there normally isn't much of a question, not for long any way, about which is faster on a lake. I could never figure which to keep, kept them both.

Ihavn't been in the sport long enough to start customizing machines but perhaps soon I will, not my gt, its too big to do much with it except blasting down the lake, I may start looking for an older Mach Z or xcr to
tinker with. I love both Polaris and brp so I dont know what I would look for.

I kept my triple after getting the 900. I had thoughts about selling it, but I have a lot of $$ into it and that doesn't make it worthmore. I did not get ridden at all the first year. Last year a buddy of mine rode it about 175 miles. I rode it 40 miles earlier this year and about 50 on sunday. I ended up racing my brother with his 01 zl800 with D&D pipes which runs extremely well, (ask the guy's with the t-cats we beat in Lewiston Saturday). I beat him, LOL this sled still rocks. I even beat a buddy of mines zrt800 until we hit 95mph consistantly. Whoo-hoo 9400 rpm's sounds awesome. Kevin
